Ontario Legend Car National Qualifier Win Goes to Adam Cuthbertson
Peterborough Speedway has been a showplace venue for the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series in 2025. Saturday, August 23rd, the popular Central Ontario layout played host to the group’s National Qualifier, presented by Skelton Truck Lines and ATS Healthcare.
Dawson Drimmie and Wes Cuthbertson were on the front row as the 22-car starting field came to the green flag for the 25-lap showdown. Drimmie’s No. 66 ride has held the hot hand on the home front this year and that trend continued, as he was joined by Adam Cuthbertson and his brother Wes when the leaders caught the tail-end of the field with just over a half dozen laps on the scoreboard. A yellow flag – for an incident in the 4th turn – brought the pack back together for a restart a couple of laps short of halfway.
Drimmie continued to control the running order, with the Cuthbertson’s, Mark Griffin, Gibson Baker and the balance of a hungry field glued to his back bumper. With a green flag feel over the closing stages, it looked like Dawson would be adding another notch to his race winning belt. That was when Adam Cuthbertson came knocking.
As has been another Peterborough Speedway trend in 2025, the driver of the No. 79 took the race lead with a 4th turn pass with only a handful of laps remaining. Despite Drimmie looking to retake the lead, Cuthbertson held his ground for the race win. Drimmie, Wes Cuthbertson, Gibson Baker and Jake Spencer-Walt wrapped-up the top 5. Griffin, Mitch Wright, Keaton Pipe, Cole McFadden, Nick Portt, Kenny McNicol, McKenzie Milwain, Paul Pierik, Caleb Drimmie, Rob Eggleton, Andrew McFadden, John Milwain, Joe Sherman, Nathan Huffman, Jeff McGibbon, and Andy Toms completed the running order.
