Catch the 2023 Edge of Your Seat Action at Peterborough Speedway
Take a seat in the grandstands for a night of family motorsports entertainment and you’ll understand why Peterborough Speedway has been nicknamed Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval.
The tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road routinely produces some of the most impressive racing in the province, from the home track favourites to touring divisions alike. Heading into the venue’s 57th consecutive season of operation, track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says the promotional team has been working overtime to put together an exciting schedule.
“It has been a busy off-season, but I’m confident that we’ll have everything ready to go when it comes time for this year’s lid-lifter,” J.P. Josiasse explained. “Just like the weekly racers, our track team will be going through a checklist and crossing things off leading-up to the green flag at the Saturday, May 20th Pure Country 105 season opener.”
Josiasse says the 2023 kick-off – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – will include the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Jiffy Lube Super Stock and KOD Disposal Late Model divisions, plus the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series and a Fan Appreciation Autograph Session at intermission. Pit gates will open at 12:30, with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 3:00 and the new season’s first green flag at 5:00.
Track officials recently announced that there will be a trio of open practice sessions leading-up to this year’s season opener. Cars will hit the track Thursday, May 11th at 4:00, Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 and Thursday, May 18th at 4:00. Testing track time is subject to weather conditions. Updated info will be posted on the speedway website and social media platforms.
In accordance with insurance coverage regulations, Peterborough Speedway staff and officials will once again require anyone entering the track through the pit gate to present a completed 2023 pit waiver. There is a QR code and full instructions on the track website or through the online link at https://ps2000ltd.speedwaiver.com/yvmag. Event passes for the new season of action can be purchased through the advance ticket link on the track website or at the walk-up, trackside general admission ticket window on raceday.
