The Outlaws are Coming to Central Ontario for a Mid-Season Bash
Saturday, July 4th Mother Nature got in the way of a perfectly good time at Peterborough Speedway.
Next on the weekly line-up at the popular Cottage Country oval is the New Country KX 105 Mid-Season Bash – Saturday, July 11th – featuring the return of the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models, along with the home track SwitchTire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Late Model and Nadeau’s Collision Service Junior Late Models, with Kid’s Barrel Races as the intermission attraction.
For the first time since the 2017 season, the JRS Auctions Outlaw Super Late Model events, presented by Just Foam It Spray Insulation will once again operate under the OSCAAR banner. The group’s most recent tour stop – the Gold Rush 126 at Flamboro Speedway – was won by Treyton Lapcevich, with Jake Sheridan and Andrew Gresel completing the podium.
Heading into the Saturday, July 11th Mid Season Bash, John Lavalle is the current Mini Stock point leader, with Cameron McGlashan and Christen Lavalle tied for
2nd, 11 points behind. The No. 52 from Gordon Racing leads the Renegade Truck standings, with wins by Kyle Gordon and James Townsend. Adam Chatten is 2nd, 10 points behind, with Stephen Bierworth next, 18 points out of the lead. Dan McHattie is in control of the Late Model point standings by a 13-point margin over reigning track champion Ryan Kimball. Kelly Balson – the most recent main event winner – sits 3rd, 16 points behind.
This will be the 3rd of 4 scheduled dates for the Junior Late Models. The Saturday, May 23rd show was rained out. Saturday, June 20th Brody Coates picked up his first career feature win. A week later, Lucas Finnegan – who was subbing for an injured Avery Kirkpatrick – was the main event winner. As result, the No. 13 car is the current point leader by a 4-point margin over Coates. Owen Ephgrave holds-down 3rd spot, 16 points behind.
Grandstand gates Saturday, July 11th open at 5:00, with the night’s first Great Canadian RV green flag at 6:00.
