Ontario Sportsman Series Rolls into Peterborough Speedway

Central Ontario race fans are getting ready tor the next date in a busy month of action as the Ontario Sportsman Series gets ready for the Silver Wheel 100, presented by AF Automotive Fluids – Saturday, August 8th – at Peterborough Speedway.

 

Through the popular group’s 19th season, close to 25 different teams have made at least 1 start, with 4 different drivers picking up a main event win. Tim Tolton is the latest winner on the tour, scoring the Saturday, July 25th victory at Full Throttle Motor Speedway. Shawn McGlynn is the current point leader, with Kevin Trevellin – who scored the first win of his career at Peterborough in 2022 – Sean Mangin, Donavin Clark and Cooper Aubertin rounding out the top 5 in the standings.

 

A check of series history shows a strong Peterborough Speedway connection in the list of former champions. Connor James captured the crown in 2019, 2024, and 2025. Former Central Ontario Mini Stock racer Brandt Graham claimed the title in 2016 and 2017. Graham ran 3 seasons under the Ontario Sportsman Series banner. He was also rookie of the year in 2015.

 

In addition to the annual visit from the Ontario Sportsman Series, this weekend’s Central Ontario Saturday night racing experience will also include the home track Bone Stock and Late Model divisions, along with the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series and KOD Disposal Ontario Bandoleros. Kid’s Barrel Races will be intermission attraction. Grandstand gates open at 5:00, with the night’s first Great Canadian RV green flag at 6:00.
