Weather Claims an Ontario Legend Car Date at Peterborough Speedway

Its early in the 2024 schedule, but when it comes to events for the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series, the score is Mother Nature 2, Racers 1. The tally was recently updated after a less than favourable forecast forced the cancellation of an anticipated event – Saturday, May 25th – at Peterborough Speedway.

To make-up for the most recent washout, Ontario Legend Car Series director Robin Jongen says teams will run a pair of feature events Saturday, June 1st at the venue where they’re Making Memories for Life. The first will be presented by Sobey’s Gravenhurst, with sponsorship for the 2nd round by Firehouse 343/Sidetracked Muskoka. Firehouse 343 will have their fire truck on hand at the track.

“We put together our annual schedule almost a year before we even think about taking a green flag,” explained Robin Jongen. “Even the best weather forecasters in the world would find it hard to make predictions that far in advance. Its something we can’t change so its best to just play the hand we’ve been dealt.”

Even with rain playing a role in some of the early season action, more than 25 different teams have logged-in for Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series events so far. The top runners with the group have stepped into the spotlight to show their stuff when it was all on the line.
