Hometown Classes Share the Peterborough Speedway Weekly Spotlight

With family members and friends leading their cheering sections, home track runners get to shine at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval.

Saturday, July 22nd, catch the local SwitchTire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Jiffy Lube Super Stock and Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model teams, as they’re joined by the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, with Kid’s Bike Races as the intermission feature.

Even though it wasn’t on the original schedule, because of the recent rainout, track officials have added the KOD Disposal Late Models to this weekend’s line-up. Special thanks to the generous support of Custom Forming, Courtice Septic, Sine’s Flooring, J Bex Construction, Richter Law and Beyond Signs & Design.

“We’ve had some solid numbers across the board this season,” said Peterborough Speedway owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse. “Our fans have seen some exciting racing from the drop of the green flag and with just 7 weekly events remaining before we wrap-up the 2023 regular schedule and track championships on the line, its time for everyone to bring their best stuff to the table.”

To date, nearly 20 home track Bone Stock teams have scored points in at least 1 main event, while the Renegade Truck field has seen a baker’s dozen of drivers crack the starting field and a dozen different Super Stock drivers have signed-in at the pit gate. 20 different Mini Stock and Late Model teams have taken the green flag during the 2023 schedule, with nearly 20 Junior Late Model runners showing their stuff on raceday.

Coming up Saturday, July 29th the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stocks, along with the Late Models, Renegade Trucks and Super Stocks will welcome the Ontario Sportsman Series for a 100 lap feature event, with King of the Hill timed spectator laps as the half-time attraction. Racing starts at 6:00 each night.
