Pulling Out the Stops for the 29th Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic

Even a casual mention of Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic creates a level of excitement across the provincial motorsports community.

This year’s 29th edition of the event billed as the ‘Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing’ hits the ground running Friday, October 7th at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile. First out of the gate will be the opening rounds of qualifying for the Bone Stock, Mini Stock and Super Stock teams, plus the Canadian Legend Car Series along with the OSCAAR Hot Rods. Track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says it will be a busy weekend of action on and off the track.

“With close to a dozen different classes in the weekend line-up the team in the Kenny U-Pull Tech Lane will be kept very busy,” Josiasse said. “There will be some drivers who have never raced here before or others who will be running new equipment who’ll want to get as much track time as possible. We’ll do our best to make sure every racer who comes through the gates has an equal chance of leaving with an Autumn Colours Classic title on their resume.”

Action on the Friday, October 7th Autumn Colours Classic opening night concludes with the Canadian Legend Car Series non-winner event, plus the annual Young Guns Races. The shootout events, presented by APC Auto Parts for Mini Stock racers aged 21 and younger or Super Stock runners at 24 years of age or younger have quickly become a highlight of the Thanksgiving Weekend spectacular.

As they have been throughout the 2022 regular season, weekend passes or individual tickets will be available in advance via the online ticketing app on the track website. Go to www.eventsprout.com/events/peterborough-speedway-2000-ltd, with full details and pricing provided by mid-September. Daily or weekend tickets can be purchased as a cash transaction on raceday at the walk-up trackside ticket booth.

Pit gates are slated to open for each day’s program at 10:00, with the spectator gates unlocked at 5:00 and racing at 6:00 for the Friday, October 7th Autumn Colours Classic kick-off.
