Bailey Jacobs has Another Strong Peterborough Speedway Finish
The hardest worker on any local racer’s pit crew is someone no one has ever seen. Their name is ‘Mo’, as in momentum. For the last few weeks of the 2021 regular season at Peterborough Speedway, ‘Mo’ has been doing some great work on the No. 60 Super Stock team of Bailey Jacobs. During the Championship Clash – Saturday, September 4th – the Warsaw, Ontario racer added a runner-up main event finish to go along with the back-to-back 3rd place efforts from just a few weeks earlier.
“Things have really come together. The team is working hard in the shop and that effort has really paid-off at the track,” the driver explained. “This is the same car that we won the 2018 championship with, but we did a ton of work on it to be ready for the season. For a while, it didn’t look like we’d be racing this year but I’m glad things were able to open up.”
Even with a string of strong, late-season finishes under his belt, Bailey Jacobs has confirmed that the Saturday, September 4th Championship Clash at Peterborough Speedway was the final event of his 2021 schedule. The 24-year-old, second-generation speedster and his girlfriend Naomi are focusing their attention on buying their first home.
“With the move and everything, this will give us a bit more time to get things settled and situated before winter,” Bailey Jacobs said. “Just like getting the car ready for the track every week, Naomi and I have put together a checklist to make sure everything we need to do is taken care of. This is a very exciting time.”
Jacobs says that once everything to do with the move is wrapped-up, the team of Jeff Jacobs, Tyler and Luke Handley and his girlfriend Naomi will start working to get both of their cars ready for the 2022 season. In the meantime, he’d like to thank his sponsors Kawartha Heavy Equipment Repair, T.G. “I’m lucky to have some great family members and fans who’ve supported me since my go-kart racing days,” said the driver. “All the people who sit in the grandstand wearing Jacobs Motorsports t-shirts. I can see them every lap and during the caution flags, its so easy to hear them cheering. That means a lot.”
