OMRS Teams Shut the Door on a Busy Month at Peterborough Speedway
Strong car counts and some exciting action have highlighted the month of July for the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series – powered by Torque Builders Inc. – at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved.
Close to 20 teams have signed-in to contest each race in the first pair of events that comprise a stretch of 3 shows in 4 weekends that will conclude with the track’s Mid-Summer Bash scheduled to take the green flag Saturday, July 25th. Richard Warnes – who along with Randy Hollingsworth and Bill Pickford make up the team of OMRS officials – says the Peterborough Speedway run has helped make people aware of what the tour is all about.
“For the track, the series and the drivers who put on the shows, it’s been a win-win-win situation,” said Warnes. “We were part of the most popular Fan Appreciation Night in the venue’s history and once the green flag waved, those in attendance got to see what our brand of the sport is all about. It’s been an exciting season for the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series brand and we still have about a handful of shows remaining on the calendar.”
Heading into the next event on the schedule, the top drivers in series points are wrapped tighter than a ham sandwich in a construction worker’s lunchbox. Just over 40 markers separates the top 10 teams in the standings and the difference between a good night and a bad night could change everything in a single outing.
