Canadian Legend Cars Look to Finish the Job at Peterborough Speedway

A favourable forecast is all that stands in the Canadian Legend Car Series completing a feature event date at Peterborough Speedway.

Saturday, August 19th the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series will be back at the venue known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval. It’ll be the group’s first start at the popular Central Ontario layout in over a month. The last time they were at the track, Mother Nature got in the way of a race that had all the makings of a stellar ‘A’ main event.

“Back on Saturday, July 8th our feature race was just rolling onto the track when the rain started,” explained Legend Car Series spokesperson Kevin Foisy. “The raceday bonus payout from long-time Legends Series supporter Stan Morrow – originally offered at the July 8th event – has been held-over to this weekend’s make-up date.”

Morrow has offered extra purse money for the podium finishers in the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series feature event. $500.00 for the feature winner, $300.00 for the second place finisher and $200.00 cash for the driver who takes the checkered flag in 3rd place. The driver who gains the most positions in the finishing order will also receive a $200.00, hard charger bonus. Legend Car Series racers, staff and officials thank Stan Morrow for his generosity and continued support of the Legends Series racing brand.

Foisy says this will be the first of back-to-back Peterborough Speedway race weekends for the Canadian Legend Car Series. They’ll also be on the schedule Saturday, August 26th when the tour returns to the popular facility on Mount Pleasant Road. The series will also be part of the 30th anniversary edition of the Autumn Colours Classic, presented by APC Auto Parts Centres.

Catch the action this weekend at Peterborough Speedway. Grandstand gates open at 5:00, with the night’s first green flag at 6:00.
