Tyler McMurter Looks to Rebound from a Hard Luck 2025 Season
It’s a passion for the sport that brings local racers to the hometown motorsports stage. After experiencing a 2025 season he’d just as soon forget, Tyler McMurter is anxious to take the first green flag of Peterborough Speedway’s new SwitchTire Mini Stock schedule.
The 34-year-old runner from Newcastle, Ontario suffered catastrophic mechanical problems issues that sidelined his own No. 46 Mustang and relied on the kindness of fellow competitors including Dylan Wills and still managed to score a 3rd place finish in the overall point standings. McMurter will head into his 4th full-time season in the sport with a tool chest filled with high hopes as he plans for a healthy helping of good racing luck.
“There is really nowhere to go but up,” said Tyler McMurter. “Even the best racers in the field can have a rough night here and there. I just hate the fact that our issues seemed to follow us from week to week. I’ve always been optimistic so I’m hoping things will turn around for our team once the new schedule kicks-off.”
As the new year of action comes into focus, Tyler McMurter is pleased to fly the sponsorship banner for Double D Dent Repair, NOSSCAR.com, Comic Alley Toys, Lakeside Mobile Tire, Clark Meats and Clarke Motorsports Communications.
SwitchTire Mini Stocks will once again one of the spotlight divisions at Peterborough Speedway. Beginning with the New Country KX 105 2026 Season Opener – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – Saturday, May 16th teams will have a total of 11 regular season dates on the calendar at the popular Central Ontario oval.
