Ontario Legend Car Series Prepares to Unload at Peterborough Speedway

Road trips are common in short track racing. As quickly as a team returns from one show, they’re packing the hauler to get ready for another. The next date on the travelling road show for the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series will be a Saturday, August 23rd National Qualifier stop at Peterborough Speedway.

The final Ontario Legend Car Series appearance during the track’s 2025 regular season will be a special event for Skelton Truck Lines and ATS Healthcare. Both companies will bring their employees to the venue Saturday night. Ron and Patti Skelton have added $ 900 to the race purse. $ 250 for 1st, $150 for 2nd and $ 100 for 3rd. The top finisher in each division – Pro, Semi Pro, Master and Young Lion – will each pocket an extra $ 100.

Peterborough Speedway brings out the best in the Ontario Legend Car Series. The last 3 shows at the popular Cottage Country circuit have all been decided by a dramatic last lap pass, including a pair of victories by Dawson Drimmie and a single checkered flag from Parker Traves. As result, a gap of 116 points is all that stands between the 1st and 5th place teams. Included in that cluster is the group’s leading JF Enterprises rookie of the year contender Jake Spencer-Walt, who is 4th in the overall running order and only 70 points out of top spot. 40 racers have earned points with the Ontario Legend Car Series this year.

Even as the group heads to Central Ontario for the final time on the track’s 2025 regular season schedule, they’ll still make stops at Full Throttle Speedway, as well as September 6th and 21st dates at Sunset before concluding the line-up October 10th through 12th at Peterborough for the 32nd annual APC Auto Parts Autumn Colours Classic.

In addition to the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series’ National Qualifier, this weekend’s agenda will also include the home track Bone Stock and Late Model divisions, along with the GSR Outlaw Midgets. Reverse and Flagpole Races will be a special attraction, with Kid’s Bike Races as the intermission feature. Grandstand gates open at 5:00, with racing at 6:00.
