J.P. Josiasse Switches Hats for his First Pro All Stars Series Starts of 2022

As owner and promoter at Peterborough Speedway, J.P. Josiasse is a well-known fixture on the provincial motorsports landscape. This weekend the Ennismore, Ontario resident will trade-in his track operator’s wardrobe for a driver’s firesuit and helmet as he makes a long-awaited return to North Carolina for the Easter Bunny 150 on the PASS Super Late Model Touring Series at Hickory Motor Speedway.

As the only team coming from north of the border, Josiasse says he’s looking forward to the trek to the heart of NASCAR country for a pair of shows that will launch his 2022 racing schedule. The group is planning to make it to between 8 and 10 events this year with a goal of improving on a best career finish of 3rd from 2015 at Anderson, South Carolina.

“It’s unfortunate that we haven’t been able to race since February of 2020 because of the border restrictions but in some ways, it’s been a blessing,” explained the driver. “We’ve had the chance to go over the car from top to bottom and bumper to bumper to make sure everything is ready for the green flag. Our crew of Jeff Tyndall, Peyton Milburn and Craig Stevenson has worked hard and as soon as we close the gate on the hauler, I’ll be confident that everything has been taken care of.”

Josiasse says it’s been a busy time of year putting together a schedule for the 55th consecutive season of racing at Peterborough Speedway and finalizing the travel plans for the trek of about 14 hours to get his own racing equipment to the year’s first event. His No. 24J Port City Racecars Stefko Racing Engines powered machine will carry support from hometown sponsors and friends including The Old Smoke House, Stoneridge Specialty Insurance, AR Bodies, APT Trucking, KOD Disposal, Leaf Racewear and Impact Safety Equipment.

“We have our fingers crossed that things will get off to a great start and I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and take that first green flag,” Josiasse said. “These shows always have a strong field and treat the fans to some very exciting racing.”
