Kyle Hope Returns to the Racing Ranks; This Time at Peterborough Speedway
The thrill of chasing a Saturday night checkered flag on the hometown, short track stage in front of your family and friends is something that never gets old. Spending every minute of your spare time working on the racecar to gain a single position that’s better than the week before is worth every scraped knuckle you’ll pick up along the way. Even though he’s been away from the sport since finishing 2nd in the final 2011 Pure Stock point standings at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Kyle Hope is looking forward to making his Bone Stock debut – Saturday, May 18th – at Peterborough Speedway.
The 31-year-old from Oshawa, Ontario – who earns his weekly paycheque as a service person with Durham Regional Transit – worked hard throughout the off-season to put the finishing touches on the #03 Residential Auto/The Green Window Company/K & S Mini-Ex Services/ 12FIFTY9 Graphics/Ken Hope Motorsports Honda Civic that he’ll wheel into battle in the entry level division of the venue known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval.
“I really have to thank my Dad for buying the car for me,” said the driver. “He’s probably my biggest supporter and has been trying to convince me to get back into the sport. My sister Karrie is my number one fan and is very excited about heading back to the track. I have to give special thanks to Phil Brown and Paul Howard at Residential Auto for letting us paint and decal the car. Without their help, there would be no way we’d be ready for opening night.”
Hope says his fiancé Kyla has been very supportive of his dream to get back behind the wheel and helps out whenever he needs a hand. The itch to get back into racing came after going to see friend and co-worker Kyle Novis race last year. After seeing the #45 team have a great season in 2018, he can’t wait race against him this year.
“I think it’ll be a great year and we’re almost ready to roll,” Kyle Hope admitted. “There is still room for a sponsor on the hood and some other spots on the car are also available. If anyone wants to learn more about the team and our plans, they can check out K. Hope Racing 03 on Facebook for all the details.”
