Rainout Cuts Peterborough Speedway Schedule to 2 Remaining Dates
Mother Nature threw Central Ontario racers a curve with a Saturday, August 22nd rainout at Peterborough Speedway. This year’s regular season schedule has just a pair of dates remaining.
The excitement begins Saturday, August 29th with the home track SwitchTire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Late Model and Nadeau’s Collision Service Junior Late Models, plus GEN3 Electrical SportsMods, presented by OMRS. Kid’s Racecar Rides will be the intermission feature. Gates open at 5:00, with racing at 6:00.
John Lavalle leads the Mini Stock standings on Cameron McGlashan. Christen Lavalle sits 3rd in the running order, 74 points behind the leader.
The No. 52 pick-up – shared between Kyle Gordon and James Townsend – leads the Renegade Truck running order, by 44 markers over Shawn Murray. Stephen Bierworth’s No. 49 is 3rd, 56 points back.
In the Late Model running order, Dan McHattie has a 9-point cushion over Ryan Kimball. Kelly Balson sits 3rd, 36 points out of the lead.
Brody Coates is control of the Junior Late Model field but has only a 7-point cushion on the most recent feature winner Owen Ephgrave and is 15 points up on Avery Kirkpatrick in the title hunt.
It isn’t too early to make plans for the 2026 Championship Clash – presented by APC Auto Parts Centres – Saturday, September 5th at the popular oval on Mount
Pleasant Road. The regular season championships in the home track Bone Stock, Mini Stock, Renegade Truck, Super Stock, Late Model and Junior Late Model classes will be decided. Don’t miss a second of the season finale action, with grandstands opening at 3:00 and racing at 4:00.
