Rob Crick Rolls into the 2026 Peterborough Speedway Mini Stock Season

Local racers aren’t waiting for a big payday. They sign-in weekly at their hometown raceway because of a love for the sport.

Oshawa, Ontario’s Rob Crick experienced his share of ups and downs during last year’s Peterborough Speedway schedule. A graduate of the Central Ontario oval’s Bone Stock ranks, the 47-year-old runner finished tied for 6th place in the 2025-point standings and was named winner of the Mini Stock division’s Best Appearing Car Award. After missing the opening night of this year’s schedule, the driver of the Daddy & Daughter racer has recorded back-to-back top 10 finishes in the group’s 20-lap headline events.

While running a stretch of 3 races in as many days, Crick barrel rolled his No. 84 ride during the main event at the former Sunset Speedway. Even though it is uncommon to see an asphalt Mini Stock take some air, the driver was able to walk away from the accident a little shaken, but otherwise unhurt. During the off season, the team was able to put together a new piece he calls ‘Mistress 2.0’. Although he’s registered for weekly action at Peterborough, Rob Crick says his official plans are still up in the air.

“This early in the year, there are still several options to choose from,” said Rob Crick. “It would be nice to do some travelling but most likely we’ll stay focused on running where we’re comfortable. Our friends, family and sponsors are used to seeing us Saturday nights at Peterborough, so I think that’s where we’ll run the most. There will be some time to hit the road during our off nights as the season rolls on.”

Based on some limited track time, Crick says the latest incarnation of his equipment feels good but like everyone else, he’s still looking for some extra speed. The driver says he’s appreciative of the help he receives at the track and in the shop from his daughter Jadyn Suffel to keep the car race ready. 2026 sponsorship support for the No. 84 Mini Stock comes from Canadian Air Tech Systems, Babin’s Auto Repair, Lakeside Mobile Tires, Strawnco 77, Counsell Contracting, Eagle Auto Glass, Sign Design – Whitby and Clarke Motorsports Communications.

Next action for Rob Crick and the SwitchTire Mini Stock field will take place Saturday, June 13th during the APC Late Model and Dayco Super Stock double dip, presented by KOD Disposal. Grandstand gates open at 2:00, with racing at 4:00.
