Home Track Regulars Tackle the APC Autumn Colours Classic
Known for ‘Making Memories for Life’, Peterborough Speedway is Central Ontario’s favourite weekly race place. In less than a week, the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing kicks-off its 31st annual edition with the arrival of the APC Autumn Colours Classic.
The first green flag of the weekend is slated for 6:00 Friday, October 11th and continues for 3 straight days with close to a dozen different divisions in competition. J.P. Josiasse says the venue’s promotional team is expecting a strong turnout from invaders and home track favourites alike.
“Everyone wants to wrap-up the season-ending spectacular with the prestige and bragging rights that come with earning an Autumn Colours Classic championship,” said Peterborough Speedway’s track owner and promoter. “Our weekly racers will be well represented throughout out the field, with some fan favourites and familiar faces chasing the checkered flag.”
Depending on the line-up, fans could occasionally see Sean Walker wheeling as many as 3 different racecars. For the APC Autumn Colours Classic, he’ll leave the team’s No. 04 Super Stock and Hot Rod equipment in the team’s Lindsay, Ontario shop and concentrate on his KOD Disposal Late Model. The racer – who’ll celebrate his 59th birthday in November – has been racing at Peterborough Speedway since 1993 and is looking to log a solid finish in the season-ending spectacular.
It has been a while since Ryan Babin was a weekly runner at Peterborough Speedway. Other than occasional starts here and there – including a few earlier this year – the owner/operator of Babin’s Auto Repair has been a part-time racer since his 2014 Mini Stock championship season. Heading into the annual Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing, the driver of the No. 89 machine will be looking for an APC Autumn Colours triumph, like he recorded in 2013.
Along with his father and grandfather, Dylan Wills has been a fixture at Peterborough Speedway for several seasons. First in a Mini Stock, the 26-year-old 3rd generation racer from Orono, Ontario spent the 2024 schedule at the controls of his No. 28 Jiffy Lube Super Stock. After finishing 8th in the year’s overall point standings, Wills says he’s looking forward to improving on a best finish of 12th during his upcoming 5th start in the APC Autumn Colours Classic.
Weekend passes and single day tickets for the 31st annual APC Autumn Colours Classic are available by selecting the online ‘buy tickets’ option in advance or on raceday at the track. Pit passes are only sold in person at the gate. Peterborough Speedway is a ‘cash only’ facility, with an ATM on-site.
