Mid Summer Shootout is the Halfway Point of Peterborough Speedway’s 2014 Season

Mid SummerIdeal weather conditions, strong competition in every division and solid numbers in the pit area and spectator grandstands. It’s been a banner 2014 campaign for Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval.

 

Saturday, July 12th Country 105 presents the Mid-Summer Shootout at Peterborough Speedway. Fans will see an exciting 5 division show, with the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Peterborough Hyundai Mini Stock, Parry Spring Service Renegade Truck, Paul Davis System Thunder Car and Ontario Modifieds Racing Series classes, plus kid’s barrel races at intermission. Track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse says everyone has worked extremely hard to give the fans some exciting shows week after week.

 

“Just look at the fact that it took 6 shows before there was a repeat feature winner in the Late Model field, or the number of first time winners we’ve had so far this year,” said Josiasse. “The racing has been amazing and that will always help bring more people through the gates.”

 

The Peterborough Speedway crew has also been very busy behind the scenes and recently introduced the inaugural series of limited edition driver trading cards, along with the 2014collectable t-shirt. A night at the race track has become the summer’s ultimate fan-friendly experience in Central Ontario.

 

For the Country 105 presentation of the Mid-Summer Shootout – Saturday, July 12th – pit gates will open at 3:00, with the grandstand areas unlocked at 5:00 and the night’s first green flag at 6:00. Looking ahead on the schedule, the second of this year’s 3 Toonie Grandstand Admission/Fan Appreciation Nights – presented by Pepsi is scheduled for Saturday, July 19th with racing featuring the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Peterborough Hyundai Mini Stock, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car, Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Model and Inex Ontario Legend divisions.
