Each Green Flag is Something New for Bone Stocker Victoria McLenon

No matter their level of experience, home track racers never stop learning.

Before making her first in a Bone Stock invitational event in 2020, Victoria McLenon admits she didn’t know much about racing, or even cars. Even though she wanted to learn about them, she didn’t much interest while growing up. Then, she found out that racing was a sport that her family had been involved with through the generations and her interested piqued. She asked about taking a car out for a few laps during practice and immediately fell in love with the world of weekly racing.

A few years down the road and with some additional experience under her belt, the 23-year-old from Whitby, Ontario benefitted from the tutelage of her uncle and former Peterborough Speedway track champion Shawn Solomon and scored the first qualifying event wins of her career.

“The qualifying event wins helped make everything we’ve been doing this year worthwhile,” said Victoria McLenon, who currently holds-down 6th spot in the Peterborough Speedway Bone Stock point standings. “It gave my self-esteem a boost and I felt my confidence grow. Those victories changed my way of thinking from being a driver to being a racer.”

McLenon – who works as a Customer Service and Collectible Card Game Specialist at Comic Alley Toys – says she looks forward to her trips to the racetrack and spending time with the people she’s met during her career. With only a few weeks remaining in the 2024 regular season schedule, Victoria McLenon is already planning for next year, with an announcement of the team’s intensions expected shortly.

As this year’s racing line-up winds down, McLenon and the No. 89 team would like to thank John, Christen and Brad Lavalle, Ryan Babin at Babin’s Automotive, Zac Cheng and Crew Chief Shawn Solomon who help in the shop and at the track to make sure the car is ready for the night’s first green flag. This year’s sponsorship partners including Comic Alley Toys, Babin’s Automotive, K.O.D. Disposal, Stawnco77 and Clarke Motorsports Communications are welcome additions to the weekly racing program.

Along with her dedication to the Peterborough Speedway Bone Stock ride, Victoria McLenon enjoys spending time with her close friends and family. Sometimes, she likes driving around in the car and spending time with her cat.

Next on the schedule for the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock teams is the Saturday, August 17th Double Toonie/Fan Appreciation Night, where fans will have the opportunity to meet the racers during the driver autograph session at intermission.
