OMRS Bill Pickford Memorial Event Comes to Peterborough Speedway
Action returns to the venue known for Making Memories for Life – Saturday, July 20th – as the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series Bill Pickford Memorial joins a full night of short track excitement at Peterborough Speedway.
Also on the docket will be the home track Mini Stock, Renegade Truck, Super Stock, Late Model and Junior Late Model divisions, with Kid’s Bike Races as the intermission feature. The program will also include holdover Renegade Truck and Mini Stock from Saturday, June 8th. Spectator gates open at 5:00, with the first Great Canadian RV green flag at 5:30, a half hour earlier than the time on the original schedule.
In tribute to the memory of former OMRS racer and official, the Bill Pickford Memorial will feature 30 and 31-lap main events to honour Pickford’s traditional No. 61 branding. Heading into the show, Tyler Bouillon’s No. 46 holds the hot hand on the 2024 season after opening the year with wins at Flamboro and Peterborough. The group’s inaugural start this season at Peterborough Speedway – Saturday, May 25th – was rained-out.
Saturday, July 27th Tirecraft presents a 100-lap main event for the Ontario Sportsman Series, along with the local Bone Stock, Super Stock, Late Model and Junior Late Model divisions, plus the Outlaw Midgets. Kid’s Barrel Races will be the weekly intermission feature.
Passes for all Peterborough Speedway events can be purchased in advance by selecting the ‘buy tickets’ tab on the track’s website or in person on raceday, via the walk-up ticket booth. The venue is a ‘cash only’ facility but has recently added an ATM near the main grandstand entrance for added convenience.
