Peterborough Speedway Regulars Join the APC Late Model and Dayco Super Stock Fields

Summer’s arrival is imminent. With this year’s introduction to everyone’s favourite season comes a series of special events that will serve as the perfect complement to the hometown racing divisions at Peterborough Speedway. The first marquee date to leave the staging area will be the APC Late Model 100-lap headliner, along with the Dayco Super Stock 50-lap showcase Saturday, June 15th.

Drivers from the respective Jiffy Lube Super Stock and KOD Disposal Late Model fields at the popular venue on Mount Pleasant Road are some of the bests in the business and they’ll be putting-in their finest effort to turn in a strong showing against the touring teams as the travelling groups head to the facility that is ‘Making Memories for Life’.

Marlie Owen currently holds-down the runner-up position in the home track Super Stock point standings. The popular Port Hope, Ontario speedster will head into this weekend’s Dayco Super Stock showcase event looking to improve on a 2023 effort that saw the driver of the No. 21 ride qualify 5th and take the checkered flag in 7th spot in a field of close to 20 starters. Fans can expect to see another familiar face in the starting line-up, as former track champion Anthony DiBello’s No. 16 returns to Peterborough Speedway.

On the Late Model side of the fence, a handful of home track standouts will serve as goodwill ambassadors for the local fan base. Defending track champion Ryan Kimball finished 9th in last years 100 lapper, while James Horner was 15th in the final running order. In his first career APC Late Model Series start, Jacob Mercer was 19th at the checkered flag. For this year’s event, the trio will be joined by multi-time track champion and Autumn Colours Classic winner Dan McHattie, who was 3rd in the 2015 race. Bobby Cousineau – who finished 19th in the 2021 Super Stock main event – will make his maiden voyage in the Late Model showdown.

Also on the raceday line-up are the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock and Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck divisions. Angelo Novis and Howie Crowe are the current point leaders in their respective divisions. Spectator gates open at 3:00, with the Great Canadian RV green flag at 5:00.

Advance passes are available now by selecting the ‘buy tickets’ option on the Peterborough Speedway website. Fans can also purchase tickets at the trackside ticket booth on raceday.

Weekend camping is available. Sites are $50.00 each, with pre-booking and advance payment required. Select ‘camping’ from the ‘fan info’ drop-down menu of the track website to complete your registration and select a payment option.
