Electric City 167 Highlights the 30th Annual APC Autumn Colours Classic
Home track favourites and invaders alike will have the chance to show their stuff in the headline Late Model Electric City 167 during the 30th annual APC Autumn Colours Classic, presented by Motorama – October 6th through 8th – at Peterborough Speedway.
With prestige and bragging rights on the line, the spotlight event of this year’s Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing takes centre stage during the Sunday, October 8th finale. Track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says this isn’t your typical Late Model feature race. It’s the show every driver in province wants to call their own.
“At a race distance that is more than 5 times longer than our regular Saturday night main events, teams will need to find a way to set-up their cars to compensate for the way they’ll shift over the extended run,” J.P. Josiasse explained. “There will be a mid-race break but our staff will be monitoring what can and can’t be changed during the pause in the action for the second half of the race.”
Josiasse says Peterborough Speedway officials are expecting a strong field of entries who’ll be looking to join previous winners Brandon Watson, JR Fitzpatrick and Ryan Kimball as drivers who have claimed an Electric City 167 victory. Any outsider lucky enough to make the starting field will face a tough challenge from the home track regulars, where more than 20 of the top Late Model teams in the province fought for the checkered flag throughout the 2023 regular season.
Heading into this year’s running of the Autumn Colours Classic, the track will host an open practice session – from 11:30 ‘til 4:00 – Sunday, October 1st.
