Dawson Drimmie Charges to a Peterborough Speedway Legends’ Win

His inaugural main event win may have come over a year ago, but Dawson Drimmie had never lost the hunger that would come with another taste of victory lane glory. That appetite was satisfied with his second career Canadian Legend Car Series triumph – Saturday, August 26th – at Peterborough Speedway.

Jordan Latimer and Parker Traves brought the 17 starters to the green flag for the 25-lap feature tilt, with Latimer taking the early lead as Traves – who swept a pair of Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series features a week earlier – was hot on his tail. The pack started to find their way through slower traffic with around 8 laps complete and a fierce 3-car battle for the lead – with Traves, Dawson Drimmie and Latimer – brought fans to their feet.

A yellow flag for an issue in the 2nd turn just after the hallway mark brought the pack back together and saw Drimmie – who started 4th at the initial green flag – take the race lead with 18 laps on the scoreboard. The driver of the No. 66 machine held-off Latimer and Adam Cuthbertson over the closing stages to score his 2nd career feature win. Cole McFadden and Mitch Wright completed the top 5 spots. Matt Boyes, Parker Traves, Zach Latimer, Nick Portt and Josh Inglis rounded-out the top 10. Glenn Morris, Caleb Drimmie, Keaton Pipe, Joe Sherman, Mark Griffin, Anthony Einarson and Todd Tolton filled-out the finishing field,
