Mother Nature Evens the Peterborough Speedway Score

Following a strong start to the 2026 schedule, a far from favourable forecast stepped-in to cancel the 2nd event of the Peterborough Speedway season. With strong winds and heavy rains predicted to lock-down the province, track officials were forced to pull the plug on the night’s race program.

When action returns to Central Ontario, next on this year’s line-up will be a night featuring the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Super Stock and Late Model divisions, plus the first of the season’s pair of regular season visits by the Outlaw Midget Series. Kid’s Bike Races will be the weekly intermission feature. Pit gates open at 2:00 and spectator grandstands at 5:00. The show’s initial Great Canadian RV green flag is at 6:00.

 

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 6th and the season’s first Double Toonie/Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Pepsi. Catch the thrills of the local Bone Stock, Mini Stock, Renegade Truck and Super Stock classes, plus the rain delayed kick-off for the GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods. Gates open at 4:00, with racing at 5:00 and spectator grandstand admission is only $4.00. The night’s program will also include a Fan Appreciation autograph session at intermission.

 

Smart Cottage Country race fans are also making plans for the Peterborough Speedway’s first marquee event of the year. Saturday, June 13th the United Racing Series APC Late Model, presented by Castrol and Dayco Super Stock tours roll in for a must-attend double header. 175 laps for the Late Models. 50 for the Super Stocks. Also on the line-up for the KOD Disposal showcase will be the local Mini Stock, Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series and Ontario Bandoleros. Grandstands open at 2:00, with racing at 4:00.
