Thursday Night Pit Party is the Autumn Colours Classic Prelude

It has been a month since teams last turned a lap at Peterborough Speedway and the promotional team at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval has used nearly every minute of every day to make plans for the 2021 edition of the Autumn Colours Classic, presented by Lucas Oil and Pure Country 105.

They’ve been going through the pre-race checklists to make sure everything is ready to roll. As soon as one item gets crossed-off, two more get added. As hectic as everything has been, track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse and his staff will take some time to join the drivers, race teams and fans to unwind with a Thursday night Pit Party before Central Ontario’s popular 3-day racing weekend takes its first green flag.

“We’ve all been burning the candle at both ends, so it seems like the ideal time to have a little fun,” Josiasse said. “Starting at 6:30, we’ll open the pit gates and enjoy some live music with Kat Vhonda and a complimentary hot dog barbecue compliments of KOD Disposal and Peterborough Speedway.”

This year’s first action of the Autumn Colours Classic hits the track Friday with the opening round of qualifying, capped-off with the annual Young Guns’ Events – presented by APC Auto Parts – for Mini Stock drivers aged 21 or younger and Super Stock racers who are 24 or younger. For the latest Autumn Colours Classic news and information, be sure to look to www.peterboroughspeedway.com or the track’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media platforms.

As an outdoor facility, Peterborough Speedway is exempt from the provincial vaccination passport requirements. Facemasks are required anytime fans are not seated in the grandstands. Advance tickets are still available by using the ‘buy tickets’ link on the track website.
