They’ll Settle the Score for 2021 Saturday Night at Peterborough Speedway
It’ll be all hands on deck for the final night of the 2021 regular season Saturday, September 4th at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval. The Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, KOD Disposal Super Stock and Late Model divisions, plus the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series teams come to play at Peterborough Speedway.
“We were a little bit late out of the gate because of the provincial government restrictions, but it seems like the schedule has rolled by faster than anything we’ve ever done before.” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “There have been some spectacular finishes in all our weekly classes and this weekend’s show will settle the score for our home track fields.”
Heading into the Championship Clash, multi-time track champion Dan McHattie has a slim, 2 point advantage over Bryan Mercer. Tim Batty, Steve Powell and Mark Gordon occupy the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots with less than 40 points between 1st and 5th. Anthony Dibello leads the Super Stock charge and is just 21 markers ahead of Marlie Owen. Tyler Bouillon, Rob Richards and James Townsend could make a different in the final outcome, as the top 5 in the standings are only 28 points apart.
With multiple feature wins, one might think Ryan Oosterholt is a lock to earn the Mini Stock crown, but the driver of the No. 79 Honda is just 17 points ahead. Ember Junkin, Brad Lavalle and Kevin Strutt hold down the next 3 spots in the order, with Stutt only 44 points out of first. Shawn Solomon leads the Bone Stock standings over Jacob Kelly, Oosterholt, Angelo Novis and Christen Lavalle. The top 5 runners are only 51 markers apart. Brad Lavalle sits atop the Renegade Truck ladder, with Stacy Switzer, Stephen Bierworth in 2nd and 3rd. Paul Boundy and Shawn Murray are tied for 4th, with Kyle Gordon 6th.
“It’ll be a run for all the marbles and our fans will see a great show across the board,” said Josiasse. “As an added bonus, Comic Alley Toys will present a shootout for the first-year Bone Stock runners, paying $100 to win and with a random draw from the finishing order for $50.
