Big Deal and Hot Wheel Doubleheader Saturday, June 22nd at Peterborough Speedway

Peterborough Speedway logoFans have come to count on Canada’s Toughest 1/3rd Mile Oval to offer something different and Saturday night Peterborough Speedway welcomes summer with their first ever swap meet prior to the racing program.  The crowd is welcome to come to the track early for some great bargains, then stick around for a great night of action with the Moi Parry Spring Service Renegade Truck, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car, Vanguard Self Storage Late Model and Ontario Legend divisions.  Racing will conclude with a 100 lap endurance event, featuring a combined 4 and 6 cylinder category and 8 cylinder entries. Track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse says the idea of a swap meet came from talking to the fans.

“We always have a number of people who come to the track early,” said Josiasse.  “They barbecue, socialize, play horseshoes and talk about the previous week’s racing.  Having a swap meet gives them a little something extra to do.  It’s kind of like going to a garage sale, but without the garage.  It should be interesting to see how it turns out.”

Peterborough Speedway is looking for swap meet vendors.  Each seller will receive a free 10 x 10 foot space, along with 2 general admission tickets for the night’s racing at no extra charge.  Set-up is from 2:00 ‘til 3:30, with gates opening at 4:00.  As always, the race program will get underway at 6:00.  Contact owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse, jp@peterboroughspeedway.com to learn more.

Short Track Saturday Night:  There will be no racing Saturday, June 29th at the bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City but a Chase for the Colours Pole Qualifying Event – with 75 lap Late Model, 25 lap Four Fun, 30 lap Mini Stock and 40 lap Thunder Car features – is on the agenda for a 2:30 green flag Sunday, June 30th.  The winner of each main event will earn the pole position for their respective feature race during the 21st Annual Autumn Colours Classic, October 11th to 13th.

Peterborough Speedway’s 2013 season is presented in part by Paul Davis Systems, Reinhart Trailers, Dart Heating and Cooling, Pennzoil, Pepsi, Country 105, Sound Off Signal and Peterborough Automotive
