Bill Pickford Memorial Up Next for GEN-3 Electrical SportsMods

Former OMRS competitor and official Bill Pickford was a well liked and respected member of the provincial motorsport’s community. Since his passing in 2019, current racers with the GEN-3 Electrical SportsMods, presented by OMRS have shown their respect for his contribution to the sport with the annual running of an event in his honour.

This year’s 5th annual edition of the Bill Pickford Memorial will be staged Saturday, July 18th at Peterborough Speedway. The 61-lap headliner – split into 30 and 31 lap segments to mark the car number Pickford used during his racing career – is the group’s marquee event and a race every driver in the field looks to add to their resume.

“With teams accumulating points in each of the 2 sections, every position gained on the track will help determine the final outcome,” explained a GEN-3 Electrical SportsMods spokesperson. “This race has always been about as much as paying respect to the memory of a good friend as it is claiming the overall checkered flag.”

Lap sponsorships and specialty award backers for this year’s edition are available now. Sponsor support will increase the payout throughout the final average finishing positions in both features. More information can be found on the group’s Facebook page.

Chad Strawn is the defending event champion after sweeping both segments in 2025. John Baker Jr. and Tyler Bouillon sharing the total point affair in 2024 at Flamboro Speedway.
