Filling Out a Busy 2026 Schedule at Peterborough Speedway

Local racing returns to Central Ontario Saturday, May 16th as Peterborough Speedway kicks-off its 2026 schedule with the New Country KX 105 Season Opener, featuring the best in home track action, plus the first of 8 shows for the Ontario Legend Car Series, with free spectator grandstand admission.

“We’ll be making memories all season, starting with opening night,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “For the first time in history, we’ll have a rain date for our lid-lifter. If Mother Nature cancels our original plan, we’ll move the full show to Sunday, May 17th.”

In addition to the season debut make-up date, this year’s line-up will once again see marquee special events complement the hometown racing calendar. The popular Double Toonie/Fan Appreciation Nights, presented by Pepsi – with $4.00 spectator grandstand admission – will be back May 30th, July 4th and August 15th. GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods will return for a half dozen shows starting May 23rd and highlighted by the Bill Pickford Memorial July 18th and the Robert Maebrae Classic August 29th.

APC Late Model teams will check in for a 175-lap headliner Saturday, June 13th. The docket will also include a 50-lap Dayco Super Stock main event that will see local teams earn points toward the 2026 track championship. Outlaw Super Late Models – once again under the OSCAAR banner – will invade Central Ontario Saturday, July 11th. This year’s OSCAAR Modified and Hot Rod tour double-dip has been booked for July 25th.

August action roars into high gear with the Cottage Country Bash, featuring a pre-race corn roast and a 50-lap Mini Stock Shootout. Ontario Sportsman Series runners check-in for a 100-lap ‘A’ main Saturday, August 8th. There’ll be a 50-lap Bone Stock Showdown on the 22nd that will pit invaders against hometown favourites for prestige and bragging rights.

Catch the regular season wrap-up – Saturday, September 5th – at the Championship Clash. See the local racing division titles clinched in a no holds barred run for all the marbles. Once the regular season concludes, the focus shifts to the Autumn Colours Classic. The 33rd annual running of the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing – prestige and bragging rights on the line – takes the green flag October 9th through 11th.
