OSCAAR Modified and Hot Rod Teams Head to Peterborough Speedway
It has been an action-packed summer at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval and another sizzling night of short track racing excitement is just around the corner. OSCAAR’s Modified and Hot Rod Series teams, plus the return of the Outlaw Midgets will join the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock and Jiffy Lube Mini Stock runners – Saturday, July 30th – at Peterborough Speedway.
Heading into the end of the month spectacular at the popular Central Ontario oval, nearly 30 different teams have been part of the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified tour in 2022, with Andy Kamrath the most recent feature winner. Cole Weber picked-up the latest win in the always popular Qwick Wick Fire Starter Hot Rod division that has seen almost 45 runners take at least 1 green flag.
This will be the only regular season start for the 2 OSCAAR divisions during this year’s calendar at Peterborough Speedway. Jessica James picked-up the Outlaw Midget Series win during the Saturday, June 4th visit and is the tour’s current point leader. All 3 classes will be part of the 29th running of the Autumn Colours Classic, October 7th, 8th and 9th.
To kick-off your Civic Holiday racing schedule this weekend, pit gates will open at 2:00, with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 4:00, as the track hosts a free pre-race corn roast. Racing starts at 6:00. As always, event passes can be purchased in advance by using the ‘buy tickets’ option on the track website or as a cash only transaction at the trackside ticket booth on raceday.
A new month of action at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval gets underway Saturday, August 6th as the home track Mini Stock, Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Late Model divisions are joined by the return of the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series, with another round of spectator racing in King of the Hill as the intermission feature.
