Toonie Admission/Fan Appreciation Night is Next for Peterborough Speedway
Race fans from across Central Ontario will be looking under couch cushions, in cup holders and sock drawers for spare change.
Saturday, July 11th Peterborough Speedway will feature the season’s second Toonie Spectator Grandstand Admission/Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Pepsi. Just a Toonie gets you through the gate for an exciting evening of stock car racing – with the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Mini Stock, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car, Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Model and Ontario Modified Racing Series divisions – on Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval.
Midway through the night, teams from each class will bring their machines onto the track’s front stretch to allow fans to get a close-up look at the cars and meet the drivers. Peterborough Speedway owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says the events that appear 3 on the schedule 3 times each season are as popular with the racers as they are with the spectators.
“We have a solid fan base at every weekly show and everyone who comes through the gate has a favourite driver,” said Josiasse. “Young or old, the crowd enjoys the chance to see the racecars and talk to the people they see on the track at each show. The drivers are happy to answer questions, sign autographs and many bring along candy and treats to hand out. It’s always a great time for everyone.”
For the Saturday, July 11th Toonie Spectator Grandstand Admission/Fan Appreciation Night, pit gates will open at 2:00 with the spectator areas unlocked at 4:00 and the evening’s first green flag at 5:00.
Looking ahead on the schedule, the first appearance for the APC Pro Late Model Tour comes to Peterborough Speedway for a 100 lapper – along with the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car and OSCAAR Midgets – Saturday, July 18th. Country 105 presents the Mid-Summer Bash – with the Renegade Truck, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car, Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Model and Ontario Modifieds Racing Series divisions – Saturday, July 25th.
