Puzzle Pieces Fall Into Place for Peterborough Speedway’s 2014 Season
Whether you’re fighting for the flag in front of a standing-room-only crowd and a national television audience or chasing the checkered at the local Saturday night short track, racing can be an expensive proposition. Drivers and teams rely on sponsorship support to cover parts and travel costs, while speedways count on backing to underwrite their operating overheads and shell out point-fund payments at the end of the season. In their history – spanning close to half a century – Peterborough Speedway has been fortunate to receive solid assistance for their weekly racing program.
The tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City is pleased to announce the sponsorship line-up that will take the track known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Oval into the 2014 season. Battlefield Equipment and Peterborough Hyundai will lend their names to the 4Fun and Mini Stock divisions, with Paul Davis Systems backing the Thunder Car field as well as the emergency crew. Most Saturday night race programs will also include the Renegade Trucks and Late Models. Dart Heating and Air Conditioning will once again sponsor victory lane, while the technical inspection line receives backing from Reinhart Trailer Sales. The track’s pace truck is supported by Sound-Off Signal.
“We’re very fortunate to have some excellent vendors, suppliers and long-term promotional partners associated with the track,” said Peterborough Speedway owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse. “The sponsorships we have are of mutual benefit and an excellent brand-building opportunity. Motorsports fans are extremely loyal and very willing to support the companies involved with their favourite sport.”
A solid promotional package and strong marketing support feeds the fire in the grandstands, the pit area and on the race track. The new season is still more than a month away and already, close to a half dozen new drivers have registered to compete in the Thunder Car and Mini Stock divisions, with fresh faces also expected in the Late Model, 4Fun and Renegade Truck fields. It’s never too late to join the excitement.
“We have a number of single event and full season advertising opportunities available,” said J.P. Josiasse. “Come spend a Saturday night with your family enjoying our brand of short-track racing excitement and you’ll become a fan for life.”
