Peterborough Speedway Looks to Bounce Back After Rainout

Mother Nature hasn’t been very kind to the Central Ontario motorsports community. For the second time in as many weeks, Peterborough Speedway officials were forced to delay the opening event on the track’s 2025 schedule.

“The original version of this year’s line-up included 16 straight Saturday nights of regular season racing,” explained track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “It would have been great to roll through the entire calendar without a hitch, but there isn’t anything we can do about the weather. As an outdoor attraction, we’re subjected to the whims of the forecast. The safety and comfort of our competitors and fans is of the utmost importance.”

Josiasse says the next event on the docket – Saturday, May 31st – will include the home track SwitchTire Mini Stock and KOD Disposal Late Models, along with the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Cars, Outlaw Midgets and the 2025 Peterborough Speedway debut for the Ontario Bandolero Series. Kid’s Barrel Races will be the intermission feature. Pit gates open at 2:30, with spectator grandstands unlocked at 5:00. Racing starts at 6:00. Ticket pricing and additional details can be found on the track website.

Heading into the new month, the year’s initial Double Toonie/Fan Appreciation Nights – presented by Pepsi – will be held Saturday, June 7th and Saturday, June 28th. Spectator grandstand admission will be just

$ 4.00. Each show will include a solid line-up of the speedway’s local weekly divisions and an on-track driver autograph session at intermission.

Admission passes for all events are available in advance by selecting the ‘buy’ tickets’ option on the track website or on raceday at the walk-up ticket booth. Fans are reminded that Peterborough Speedway is a cash only facility, with an ATM available near the main entrance for on-site purchases.

Bullring bullet points: Anyone entering the pit area is required to present a completed 2025 waiver, in either electronic or printed form. The template can be found and downloaded from the ‘driver info’ menu on the track’s website…As the Saturday, May 31st date will be the first race of the season, all cars will be required to receive a safety inspection before participating in in any on-track activities.
