Ready to Launch the 2024 Schedule at Peterborough Speedway
There may be no such thing as a free ride, but Central Ontario motorsports fans can enjoy a free night of racing with the annual kick-off event at Peterborough Speedway.
Pure Country 105 presents the 2024 season opener – Saturday, May 18th – with free spectator grandstand admission. Gates open at 3:00 and action gets underway at 5:00 for the first night of this year’s schedule. Fans will see a full night of the best in hometown excitement with the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Jiffy Lube Super Stock and KOD Disposal Late Model, plus the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series and a fan appreciation driver autograph session at intermission.
“Our racers and fans always look forward to the start of a fresh season and offering free grandstand admission is a fantastic way for us to launch the new line-up,” said Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “The promotional team has been busy behind the scenes since we wrapped-up last year’s APC Autumn Colours Classic and everyone is excited to see the schedule’s first Great Canadian RV green flag.”
In addition to a great night of racing, Josiasse says the season opener is a wonderful opportunity for fans and teams alike to experience everything the venue has to offer. With a history of headline events spanning close to 60 consecutive seasons, Peterborough Speedway has earned a reputation for a wide selection of some of the best raceway food items in the industry including – but not limited to – the track’s well-known fresh-cut fries. The Turn 4 Beer Garden was a recent introduction to weekly events, while website www.peterboroughspeedway.com received a new look following the conclusion of the 2023 schedule.
Looking past the season opener, several marquee dates will be featured during this year’s calendar. KOD Disposal presents the APC Late Models and Dayco Super Stocks Saturday, June 15th. The return of the Ontario Outlaw Super Late Models is booked for the Mid-Season Bash July 13th, with the 100-lap Ontario Sportsman Series on the line-up for Saturday, July 22nd. See the ‘events’ tab on the home page of the track website for full schedule details.
Fans and race team members are reminded that Peterborough Speedway is a ‘cash only’ facility, without debit payment options. Anyone entering the pit area is required to provide proof of a completed annual waiver for insurance purposes.
