From the green flag to the checkered, the freshman field at Canada’s Toughest 3^rd Mile Oval made everyone sit-up and take notice of their performance during the 2021 season.

Peterborough Speedway Rookie of the Year Winners

Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock:

16-year-old Tegan Stanley found the Peterborough Speedway Bone Stock field to be the perfect proving ground to develop his racing talents. The hometown youngster – who attends Adam Scott Collegiate – wheeled his Northumberland County Moving Company backed No. 23 machine to 6^th place in the final point standings. He says he hopes to graduate to the Mini Stock ranks in the future and his parents have been great at supporting and teaching him along the way.

Jiffy Lube Mini Stock:

The first time Brock Baker climbed behind the wheel of a racecar was Saturday, June 9^th, 2018, as a relief driver in his father’s OMRS Modified. From there, he ran Mike Howe’s Bone Stock in 2019 at Autumn Colours. With his Dad’s fans also throwing their support and encouragement behind his efforts, he managed a 5^th place showing in the final 2021 rundown. The 21-year-old from Oshawa plans to keep racing his way through the ranks and getting to run with the best of the best.

KOD Disposal Super Stock:

Tweed, Ontario’s Jeremy Dobb got his racing feet wet in the Thunder Stock division at Brighton Speedway. The father of 2 finished 9^th in the final point standings at Canada’s Toughest 3^rd Mile Oval and also ran a selected schedule of events with the Qwick Wick Fire Starter Super Stock tour. He says the positive support he received from family, friends and fans during his maiden voyage as an asphalt racer made 2021 one of his most enjoyable seasons of competition.

Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck:

Like Brock Baker, Kyle Gordon was born into a racing family. His father Mark has raced in nearly every division the province has to offer. The 21- year-old from Stouffville, Ontario made his first start in the Super Stock ranks when he was 16 and picked-up his first career Renegade Truck win on the final night of the regular season. Gordon – who works as a Steamfitter with Active Mechanical – says he and his father appreciate all the hard work by family friend ‘Big Mike’ Pariseau to keep their cars fast and mechanically sound every week.
