Mid-Summer Bash is the Unofficial Halfway Mark of Peterborough Speedway’s Season
The summer of 2018 has already been one of the hottest in recent memory and the action on the track at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval has matched the temperature readings. Saturday, July 21st Peterborough Speedway celebrates the unofficial halfway point of this year’s schedule with the Mid-Summer Bash, presented by Country 105. Track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says its been another exciting season.
“Things may have gotten off to a bit of a slow start thanks to Mother Nature, but all of our teams are charging full speed ahead in an effort to make up for any lost time,” Josiasse said. “The point standings are tight in all of the regular divisions and we’re seeing some fresh faces find their way into the winner’s circle. Our fan base is excited about the brand of racing we’re offering and that’s what this is all about.”
On track action for Saturday, July 21st includes the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Late Model classes; plus the return of the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series. Pit gates are scheduled to open at 2:30, with general admission grandstand access at 5:00 and racing getting underway at 6:00.
There is still some edge of your seat racing to come on Peterborough Speedway’s summer schedule. The Hot August Nights Series kicks-off Saturday, August 4th with the OSCAAR Mods and Pro Midgets joining the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock and Super Stock divisions; with pre-race corn roast. Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup teams sign-in Saturday, August 11th and the Hoosier Racing Tire Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model tour makes its Central Ontario debut Saturday, August 18th. The 2018 regular season calendar wraps-up Saturday, September 1st with the annual Championship Clash. Point titles for all 5 regular classes; plus the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series will be decided and weekly divisions will run their Top 10 Shootouts.
