The kids barrel race went off without a hitch as the team of Dawson and Natalie took the checkered flag. The Ontario Legends made a surprise appearance tonight here at Canada’s Toughest 1/3 Mile Oval. Next week Pepsi will present Fan Appreciation featuring the Four Funs, Mini Stocks, Renegade Trucks, Late Models, the second appearance from the Hurricane Midgets and finally Kids Bike Races.
Peterborough Hyundai Mini-Stocks – Tonight we started off with some of strongest and toughest mini-stock racers. The crowd watched in awe as Tyler Junkin (#41) pushed from the back of the pack to the front in no time with a fair size lead. Darryl Fice (#44) however closed that gap, but was just a bit too late and took second place. Tyler Junkin(#41) had a chance to mention that it’s starting to get harder to stay out in front from all the penalty weight; however he still earned himself a hat trick as he won both the heats and the feature. Daryl Fice(#44) took second, Alex Lees(#07) got third, Cole McFadden(#20) found fourth and Ember Junkin(#19) got fifth.
Perry Springs Renegade Trucks – The most action we have seen all season from the trucks tonight as Perry Spring Racing (#29) started out with a fantastic lead, however Andy McCann could only sit back and watch for so long before he took it to the outside and made a huge move putting him in the lead. Tiffany Vandebelt also brought in her recently built truck showing that the series is starting to get momentum this season. Andy McCann(#12) took the checkered, Perry Spring Racing(#29) grabbed second and Bill O’Harra(#6) got third.
Battlefield Equipment Four-Fun – Quite a bit of stiff competition put on a show as you saw the Farm Bro Racing Team out in front, consisting of Ryan Oosterholt (#79), Chris Mulders (#99), and Ryan Baben (#8) and they did not let anyone join their trio in the front. Tiffany Vandebelt showed M her girl power as she maneuvered her way out from last position to a nice finish. Ryan Oosterholt (#79), Chris Mulders (#99), and Ryan Baben (#8) took the top three spots, followed by Griffin Powell(#13) in fourth and the girl power that is Tiffany Vandebelt(#88) took fifth.
Vanguard Self-Storage Late Models – When the big boys come out to play everyone gets excited as Todd Delisle(#22W) blasted out of the starting gate and earned himself a commanding lead. Most of the action was the fight over third as Tyler Liscum(#14), Jack Horner(#31), and Crow Racing (#88) were going two and three wide in the corners and straightaways After a quick caution, Tyler Liscum(#14) saw his opportunity and took second position from under his rival Bryan Sudsburry(#29). Todd Delisle(#22W) took the checkered flag followed by Tyler Liscum(#14) and then Bryan Sudsburry(#29) grabbed third.
Legends
Some bumping and grinding in the front of the pack as the Legends brought it like they always do. Adam Cuthbertson(#79) fought his way to the front and then held onto it as he was hunted down by Rick Cook(#15) and rival Andy Warbutton(#24). Near the end of the race there was action left right and center at the front of the pack as we saw some skillful driving by Rick Cook(#15) who took first, Nicholas Ledson(#15N) who stormed into second, Andy Warbutton(#24) snaked into third and we watched as Adam Cuthberston(#79) and current points leader fall into fourth place beside his brother Wes Cuthberston(#12) in fifth.
